Croix Stevens was born and raised in a Minnesota river town on the fringe of the Twin Cities Metro area. His youth was spent playing on the open fields and hills near his neighborhood; much like the bison and prairie dogs on the Great Plains of the 1800s.
As his boundaries grew with age, Croix began spending most of his free time plying the waters of his beloved river. A recent study has shown that he spent more time camping on the river islands than in school.
Luckily, his parents never saw that study. His dad, a high school teacher, and his mom, a church administrator, were both adamant about an education. So, Croix went off to college and earned a couple of degrees, which made them happy.
Croix’s writing career began when he sold his first short story to his teacher in 4th grade for two bits and was happy to finally be paying his own way. Croix used that sale as a springboard to a 40-year career in writing, marketing, and many other creative ventures.
The Union
In 2004, an exceptional gal caught his eye by the name Walley (a family nickname). She grew up in Wisconsin. (After 15 years, they finally got over the Viking/Packer thing.) Her parents owned a jewelry store which had been in the family since 1898. After selling the jewelry store, Walley moved to Minneapolis and became a prominent Floral Designer.
Croix & Walley, along with their travel dog, River, have built a life based on a mutual love of exploration and adventure. Having lived in the Northwoods of Wisconsin for seven years, they moved (New World: A Moving Experience) and spent eight years living amongst the mangroves of Southern Florida.
They now can be found wandering the hills of Tennessee continuing their pursuit of achieving the perfect road trip, camping, or dining experience. Croix & Walley are always on the lookout for a campfire around which to hear YOUR tales of adventure.
“Walking on a Whisper” is Croix Stevens first book as an author.
